Makati Scenes (2005)

From a distance, at ground level, the skyscrapers of Makati are an impressive sight. But you should see Makati from a plane or a helicopter. The view is simply majestic. And to think that when it was founded in 1670 - as a visita of Sta. Ana de Sapa under the jurisdiction of the Franciscans - this was swampland, practically a wilderness, dismissed by Juan Miguel de Legazpi as worthless in 1571.

Yet over the centuries, this small community would leave large imprints in social, economic and cultural history. The friars established two of the earliest churches in the Philippines - the Nuestra Señora de Gracia in Guadalupe and the Church of Sts. Peter and Paul - in Makati, drawing pilgrims from all over the country.

At the turn of the century, the Americans established Fort McKinley in Makati, and in 1901, San Pedro de Makati, with a population of 2,500, was incorporated into the province of Rizal. On February 28, 1914, the Philippine Legislature passed Act 2390, shortening the name San Pedro Makati to Makati in the 1930's, the first airport, Nielson Airport, opened in what is now the Ayala Triangle. The first centrally planned community was established in the 1950's, and since the 1970's, Makati has been the undisputed financial and commercial capital, the once worthless swampland becoming prime real property.

Makati has also figured prominently in the political history of the Filipino. The community was one of the cradles of the revolt against Spanish colonial rule, and following the assassination of Ninoy Aquino in 1983, the epicenter of the protest movement against dictatorial rule. More here...

Bohol Island

Bohol Island is the main island of Bohol Province in the Visayas. It lies southeast from Cebu Island across Cebu Strait (in some references called Bohol Strait) and southwest from Leyte Island, separated by the Camotes Sea and Canigao Channel. Bohol is also located north of Mindanao with Bohol Sea between them. More here... Their latest tourist attractions are dolphin and whale watching, starfish collection, diving, among others.

Boracay Island

The fun in Boracay also doesn't end when the sun sets. Boracay nightlife is pulsating with many bars and restaurants serving food, drink and fun until the very late evening.

Get In. The port of entry for Boracay Island is the small town of Caticlan on the mainland. Outrigger boats or "bancas" leave every few minutes from Caticlan's jetty port. The short boat trip to Boracay's jetty port at Cagban cost 20 Pesos. Tourists have to pay a terminal fee of 50 Pesos and an environmental fee of 50 pesos. Tricycles are available at Cagban to bring passengers to their hotels. More here...

Northern Palawan

Palawan is an island province of the Philippines located in the MIMAROPA region. Its capital is Puerto Princesa City and it is the largest province in terms of land area. The islands of Palawan stretches from Mindoro to Borneo in the southwest. It lies between the South China Sea in the northwest and Sulu Sea in the southeast. The province is named after its largest island, Palawan Island.

Palawan is composed of the long and narrow Palawan Island, plus a number of other smaller islands surrounding the main island. The Calamianes Group of Islands, to the northwest consists of Busuanga Island, Culion Island, and Coron Island. Durangan Island almost touches the westernmost part of Palawan Island, while Balabac Island is located off the southern tip, separated from Borneo by the Balabac Strait. In addition, Palawan covers the Cuyo Islands in the Sulu Sea. The disputed Spratly Islands, located a few hundred kilometers to the west is considered part of Palawan by the Philippines, and is locally called the Kalayaan Group of Islands. More here...

SM Mall of Asia

The SM Mall of Asia(also MOA) is the largest shopping mall in the Philippines and is the 3rd largest shopping malls in the world in terms of Gross Leasable Area according to Forbes Magazine[citation needed], after the South Dongguan Mall (China), Golden Resources Mall (China), Central World Plaza (Thailand), Seacon Square (Thailand),and Runwal Arcade (India). In terms of gross leaseable area, the mall ranks as the third biggest shopping center in the world, according to Forbes Magazine. It opened on May 21, 2006. More here...

Boracay Island

Boracay is a tropical island located approximately 315km (200 miles) south of Manila and 2km off the northwest tip of the island of Panay in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines. It is one of the country's most popular tourist destinations. The island comprises the barangays of Manoc-Manoc, Balabag, and Yapak (3 of the 17 barangays which make up the municipality of Malay), and is under the administrative control of the Philippine Tourism Authority in coordination with the Provincial Government of Aklan. Cebu City has a land area of 291.2 square kilometers (112.4 sq mi). Of this, 55.9 square kilometers (21.6 sq mi) is classified as urban, while 235.2 square kilometers (90.8 sq mi) is classified as rural. To the northeast of the city are Mandaue City and the town of Consolacion, to the west are Toledo City, the towns of Balamban, and Asturias, to the south are Talisay City and the town of Minglanilla. Across Mactan Strait to the east is Mactan Island where Lapu-Lapu City is located. Further east across the Cebu Strait is the Island of Bohol. The city is politically subdivided into 80 barrios or barangays. These are grouped into two congressional districts, with 46 barrios or barangays in the northern district, and 34 barrios or barangays in the southern district.

Sunset over SM Mall of Asia

I just love the sunset that's why I took the opportunity to experience and capture its breathtaking scene. The sunset over SM Mall of Asia of Pasay City is just one of the main 'attractions' of the said mall. This, I think, can be considered as one of the privileges of their shoppers - that is, they (shoppers) get something in return with their hard-earned money.

I took this video myself without the assurance of its quality ( forgive me for this was my first time to take over the job, lol). But then again, the output seems to be not bad than I expected. Just I thought so.
